I used to disagree with your #5, thinking that it shouldn’t be automatic that you follow those who follow you. But as I got more into Twitter I found myself doing just that. I just feel like if people are taking the time to read what I have to say, maybe I should take an interest in them as well.

#9 is a great point, at the same time I am not sure this is really a good way to get ‘targeted’ followers.

Best method to get targeted followers is to use @ messages to communicate to users whom you want to follow.

I also don’t like the follow those who follow you approach.

Great Twitter tips as it never hurts to have more followers. I cross promote between my blog and my Twitter profile. I tweet requests to subscribe to my blog or newsletter and I blog asking readers to Follow.
