LOL, I thought I might get called out on that!

Refreshing to note a number of free tweeter how-to commentaries popping up around the blogosphere of late.

Very refreshing, especially in a society where everyone wants to make a quick buck from a rehashed portal of MIRc!

Remember IRC? Same concept…just different format.

Thanks for the share…

@Garmin Glad to hear you got some use from the info. I have seen some others charging for similar info, thanks for sharing.

For me I’m not too concerned about un-following. That only happens when I’m barraged by overzealous marketers. So far I’ve dumped two people and most would be shocked to learn who they were.

Great Twitter tips as it never hurts to have more followers. I cross promote between my blog and my Twitter profile. I tweet requests to subscribe to my blog or newsletter and I blog asking readers to Follow.

Great point on #9, this is something I had not thought of.

Till then,

#9 is a great point, at the same time I am not sure this is really a good way to get ‘targeted’ followers.

Best method to get targeted followers is to use @ messages to communicate to users whom you want to follow.

I also don’t like the follow those who follow you approach.

I used to disagree with your #5, thinking that it shouldn’t be automatic that you follow those who follow you. But as I got more into Twitter I found myself doing just that. I just feel like if people are taking the time to read what I have to say, maybe I should take an interest in them as well.

Your advice is sound. If all twitters used these same common sense twechniques they would certainly see an increase in real twitter followers.
