Yahoo site explorer is gold in terms of building links. Some people swear by SEO Elite by Brad Callen, however, I prefer sorting through backlinks myself to see what I’m up against. Plus, Callen is known to spam his customers, a definite no no.

Tor is seriously slow, I prefer downloading a TSV from yahoo site explorer and then using digixmas tool for getting PR and other such tools for getting backlink information.

the tool will query Google and yahoo pretty hard which allot of times will result in them shutting you out. (If this happens you’ll have to wait a couple hours until they let you back in.) One thing you can do is go into SEO quake, then go to preferences, advanced and where it says “parameters request delay” enter in “1500″ also enter “1500″ in notifications close delay. You should also check “use cash”.

Thanks for these tips. I was having the same problem with getting kicked out from too many queries for PR and all that. For some reason, it sometimes helps if I open a new browser window. The queries don’t go through in the old window but they do in the new one. Also thanks for that tor tool, I’ve been wanting something like this for quite a while and couldn’t find it.

@Prakash Balaji you can use the information to prioritize your efforts. See where you are getting good links by analyzing them, then sort your links by PageRank or Alexa or whatever you want. Then go back and reengage with those sites as they are giving you good links, and building relationships with bloggers and webmasters that give good links can’t hurt!

@ Bob White ya it gets frustrating when you simply want to get PageRank info but Google kicks you out.

Please correct me if im wrong. You said this post as link building with yahoo, seo quake but in post you said that you analyzed back links for your site and know their pr,age, alexa etc using quake. Now my question is that is this process helps in getting new links ?
